Strobie 230

Strobie 230 A new era of versatility and affordability!

Digital photography is drastically changing, with camera technology being able to use incredibly high ISO speeds and the common use of off camera lighting, there was a need for a new era flash that would fit the modern photographic method. The Strobie 230 incorporates a video light and variable dimmer to assist in low light focusing or a perfect fill light for high ISO applications. Also great to use when capturing video in low light situations. Photographers will love to use the mini video light to enhance wedding day detail shots like ring shots or photographing small items or products. The second innovative feature the Strobie 230 offers is a built-in wireless receiver making it even simpler and faster to engage off camera lighting. The Strobie 230 can be triggered via radio waves with the Tiny Trigger v3 Transmitter. If you need to trigger your flash around a wall, under a table or from an obstructive view without a direct line of sight, a radio based system is the best solution.

Strobie 230 will also work with other popular manual trigger systems. Strobie 230 is a manual flash for ultimate control, reliability and consistency.

August 12, 2014 - 2:09 pm

Nas Dinally - Hi Scott, One more question , can your flash be used in TTL as well or just manual? Now if for some reason you have to use on camera flash, does that mean you have got to constantly figure your flash to subject distance and keep changing the setting or and or aperture?

August 12, 2014 - 2:40 pm

admin - yes this is a manual flash. for basic on camera flash pics I suggest using a TTL flash. however I don’t own a TTL flash and when using on camera flash I usually shoot basic group shots at the same distance 5-6 feet from my subjects and if I set to the same Fstop it is very easy to use a manual flash- set it once, and good to go!

August 14, 2014 - 7:06 am

Leona - Hi! I bought a strobie and a tiny trigger many years ago at one of your seminars at Fort Mason. I would guess 2010 maybe. In other words, it is an older model trigger and flash. Still work fine and I am happy. My question is, I am trying to do some high sinc images and I am finding it has everything to do with the trigger system. Do the older model tiny triggers support this?

October 12, 2015 - 10:29 am

admin - Hi Leona, my system is manual and does not support HSS. However if you want to set you camera with a low stop and use flash in bright daylight, you can use my simple Variable ND filter. Check it out!

October 30, 2015 - 3:48 pm

Lorretta Clarke - I am about to get an olympus camera either em 5 or em 10. I have previously used your remote and three flashes (which I love!) on my 70D. However, I am wondering whether I can use the same on the Olympus flashes, I am worried to damage the camera. Please can you let me know if I can?

admin - No problem to use my triggers on any camera system.

November 20, 2015 - 7:24 pm

Meridee - Hi!
Do you ship strobe’s to Australia?
Also I have three Canon 600 EX with a Transmitter – will I be able to combine and use Strobe and Canon Speedlites if I purchase one of your transmitters?

November 27, 2015 - 4:49 pm - Hi Scott

I a little confused, I have a Sony A7R and I put one flash on the camera and another on a light stand.

Which mode does each flash have to be in so both of them fire?

I didn’t by batteries for the transmitter which would obviously work easier but want to clarify

November 27, 2015 - 5:03 pm - Which batteries should we use? I mentioned not to use lithium with the strobie 230 are those the rechargeable batteries?

November 27, 2015 - 6:35 pm

admin - I’ve been using these with great success, on Amazon

November 27, 2015 - 6:37 pm

admin - Put the flash on the camera in Manual Mode and put the Flash on the light stand on S1 mode. When in S1, it will fire when it “sees” another flash go off.

November 27, 2015 - 6:38 pm

admin - My Transmitters work only with my flashes. You can put my flashes on S1 mode and when it sees another flash, it will fire too.
