Nickie & Marcus Wedding in Los Angeles

Photography Notes:
This was an intimate wedding at night and therefore was necessary that I had to create my own light. There was no natural ceremony light so I set up two Strobie 230 flashes in the far front corners in the room to create backlight and to open up the background exposure to create a lighter feel. When we went on location I used for the most part, my Killer Video Light thru a shoot thru umbrella for my main light and my Strobie 230 backlight and set my camera at 1600 ISO.

It is extremely difficult to focus in low light especially when the focus assist is turned off so I used focus peaking and manually focused with the 85mm.

penny foster - I was so emotionally moved by this post, and the combination of music, the images, but most of all, the capture of the love and connection between this couple. I was moved to tears, so that says it all from me Scott. Thank You

Samantha - Wow. That opening shot is fabulous and inspiring. And the bridal portrait is beautiful. And now I need to Google “focus peaking”
