MJ - a good camera is great, but look at all thos photos taken 50 or more years ago – they didn´t have the equipment thats available today – they used there vision, there imagination, there motivation – played with available light or cracy flashes and created images that still are amazing – so no it´s no – for me this statement is wrong – puting all you passion and love in your photograpy you can create beautiful images with the cheepest camera …

Greg - Being a great photographer is about capturing a moment in time and space and communicating that in a way the viewer feels it rather than sees it. It’s something that makes the viewer take notice.

You have to be a great photographer to take great photos.

You don’t have to know all about photography to take great photos but it can help for reasons mentioned by others.

The ad does not support it’s catch phrase. If the camera can intelligently take great pictures like that consistently on full auto it’s a great camera. Which points out that you need great equipment to take great photos.

Laura - I agree with Alex. Happy accidents happen all the time, but consistency is key! A professional who is hired has to know how to create and execute vision with great accuracy. A photographer cannot go into a job hoping to get the lucky shot.
