Jay Kelly - Hi Scott,

I was at your smug meeting (I wrote you yesterday) I purchased:
-radio slaves
-light stands
-pole w/ umbrella

What I regret, is not buying the flash!. Considering what I”ve already bought and because you’re sending the light stands to me anyway, would you consider giving me the Show Price for the flash? I would really appreciate it!

Kind regards,

aaron musgrove - Hello Scott, I am a graphic designer and dabble in photography. I’ve been watching your course on Creative Live and just purchased the course for $99. Since monday, I have been researching your products and I’d like to get a set up with 4 flashes. I currently use a Canon 5D Mk ii, Canon 24-70 L, Canon 70-200 2.8 is, Canon 580 ex ii, Westcott Apollo Orb with a cable.

I guess I would want 4 flashes, 4 stands, 1 Trigger, 4 receivers, gels, umbrellas, big boy stand or whatever else you think I would need for a 4 flash set up.

Could you fine tune this list and give me a quote when you get a chance.

I really enjoyed your course on Creative Live.

May 17, 2013 - 8:39 am

admin - Hi Aaron, I don’t have the stands, I don’t make them will help you out with that! But if you just keep putting things in the cart it will add up for you and then you can apply discount code: creativelve and it will show in total. Let me know if you have any issues!

May 17, 2013 - 5:32 pm

Michael Balka - Hello Scott,

Your Creative Live show was very inspirational. Before watching it, I was only dipping my toes into a one flash set up and was at the mercy of natural light. After watching it I’m ready to jump all in and take control over light.

I currently shoot with a Nikon D800, a SB-700, and what ever lens suits the shoot.

I stopped by here first to see if I could purchase a nice chunk of all the wonderful equipment that you have assembled, I added everything to cart and found that you only had a paypal option available. I currently do not have an account with them, so I’m left wondering do you accept any other payment forms?

May 17, 2013 - 8:31 pm

Nancy - I purchased the OCF started kit. Is there any way to track the shipment?

May 17, 2013 - 8:42 pm

admin - Yes, you will get tracking info. We will start shipping next week. Orders are overwhelming but should receive within the next two weeks.

May 17, 2013 - 8:43 pm

admin - You can go to the paypal link but you can still pay via credit card. Just look for payment options.

May 19, 2013 - 8:41 pm

Pat - Hi Scott. I loved seeing you at Creativelive. Love your work and learned so much watching you. Hopefully I can put everything in practice. Wanted to buy a few things on your sight
but some how my payment didn’t go thru. I wanted to pay using my credit card rather via paypal. I was hoping to still use my discount, but being today is the last day, I may have missed my chance to get my discount. Any suggestions? Thanks.

May 20, 2013 - 12:09 pm

Bailey - Hi Scott-
I too watched the creative live and have purchase some OCF things from your store. It said it would ship within 48 hours, is that not the case now? I have a wedding 6/1/13 that I was planning to have received the products before then. Thanks.

May 20, 2013 - 12:17 pm

admin - Sure thing my friend, email me at and let me know your situation and I will put you on the priority list! Thanks for being an awesome customer!!

May 20, 2013 - 12:18 pm

admin - don’t worry about discount, I’m extending it a week. coupon: creative live

May 31, 2013 - 11:17 pm

Cynthia Rose McCarron - Hi Scott,
I met you in your class at the PNE in April. You are truely amazing! Just wanted you to know that I was deeply inspired as I read the story on how you got started in photograpy and I am touched by how God has helped you through it all! He is my Rock as well :^) May he continue to shower you and your precious family with many graces always!
Sorry to have missed the MARS week at Cape May with John P and yourself…. Looking forward to learning more from you in the future! Thank you for giving so much of yourself and sharing your knowledge with your fellow photographers so we may become the best that we can be.. and then some!

Cynthia Rose

July 3, 2013 - 10:30 am

Clyde - Scott,
I watched the Creative Live class and purchased it as well. Thanks so much for a very helpful seminar!
You used the Big Boy Bar and also a new 3 light system that you demonstrated. Do you know when the 3 light setup will be available?

Thanks so much,

July 3, 2013 - 10:49 am

admin - You mean the triple mount that can trigger three flashes with one receiver? In about a month!!

July 12, 2013 - 11:29 am

Jason - Hi Scott,
I already own your former tiny triggers set (one transmitter, 2 receivers). I need to get two more receivers. Will the new receivers work with the older version transmitter? If not, how do I get my hands on two former version receivers?
All the best,

May 28, 2014 - 7:22 pm

shawn - When are you coming to Canada Toronto for a tour? session?

You have me hooked on your style/technique… I am watching the creative live video for several days over and over and over…

I am going to get the 10k video soon I hope….

Your amazing Scott

June 30, 2014 - 7:08 pm

Chris - Scott,
I recently bought your Strobie 130. Do you have any more hiding in your back room that you would be willing to sell to me? 😀

July 1, 2014 - 3:03 am

admin - Yes, just let me know how many you need-

November 17, 2014 - 6:07 am

Jacki Marino - Hey everyone, just wanted to post that I just bought the 230 Strobies and they are wonderful. Scott is a great guy to work with. So if you are on the line trying to decide if you should by these or not…go for it, you wont be disappointed in the least.

January 2, 2015 - 11:46 am

Dave Legrid - Scott,
Is the free V3 transmitter with a purchase of 2 Strobie 230’s still in effect ? If so, I didn’t notice where I specify my camera type for the transmitter…. or am I being dumb?

January 2, 2015 - 11:50 am

admin - Yes, free transmitter with two 230 purchases. The transmitter is universal and works with all standard hot shoe cameras!

May 14, 2015 - 2:36 pm

Renee Akana - I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate your courses. I am now into your 10K wedding photographer program. My pro mentor adores you and said, “why couldn’t he have been around at your school [Santa Monica College] when you were there? As soon as I can afford you, I’m going to come to you for mentoring!!!! Right now, you gave me “the strength” to undersell my skills just to get the job. I’m in a small town in the middle of no place in particular where the snap shooters can get all of the business for nothing more than people knowing who they are and that is as difficult (if not more) than selling my skills in Los Angeles (my hometown). Today, I walked into a non profit foundation and told them that I would do a week’s work for less than half of my day rate in Los Angeles. Why? Because I need to prove myself in this community and because the alternative is no business and sitting here all day watching courses. If I listened to any of the internet yahoos out there, I’d be charging over the top and losing the job. The foundation director said today, “your work is out of our league.” Well, yes I said, maybe so, but I explained that in this environment the girl two blocks from me does snapshots, but gets business because they know her and they don’t know me. As a result, we could work with each other. I could offer them a good price and I could get exposure for my work.

Thank you, Scott Robert, because your teaching gave me that insight in your life coaching segments of your vids. My mentor zones into bliss when we talk camera buttons or studio strobes, but YOU bring so much more to the table and when I can afford mentoring, you are it. Love you, love you, love you. You do your family proud for what you give to the photo community! You are so cool that you really can do so much in life coaching and reality checking for so many photographers. See you soon in mentoring!!! Take care.

August 22, 2015 - 5:31 am

Marvin Blue - Hi Scott I currently shoot with Fuji mirrorless systems I recently bought two of your flashes and I’m looking to expand my lighting set up my question is what should be my next step and what are some good light stands to complement your flashes as well as soft boxes that will give me the best bang for my buck

August 22, 2015 - 7:18 am

admin - I would get a triple mount so you can mount two flashes and a video light and it will hold a shoot thru umbrella. Just get any cheap stand will work. or you can get a C8 is the one I like. I have a portable strobestick with your triple mount and umbrella will work but you need an assistant to hold which is the best system.

August 29, 2015 - 4:47 pm

Lorretta Clarke - Love the strobies have three. Would like to use rechargeable batteries or a battery pack. I believe that you have to be careful what type of rechargeables you use, as I have read that, for instance, lithium ion (AA) can overheat or even melt their shells in the flash recycles quickly.
Therefore can you suggest what kind of rechargeables I can use with these flashes without breaking the flashes, or suggest a reasonably price battery pack that uses rechargeables (with of course connector).

August 29, 2015 - 5:57 pm

admin - For 1 second recycle times and a low cost battery pack
Do not use lithium batteries with the Strobie 230

January 12, 2016 - 1:31 pm

Lorretta Clarke - I would just like to say how much I loved using these flashes, they are simple and extremely reliable. The ease of using these enables me to concentrate on the creativity of the shoots, instead of trying to get to the correct menu in the back of the camera, the fact that they are manual, wireless and that Robert provides cheat sheet flash power information makes shoots a breeze. On top of that the customer service here is excellent!

April 29, 2016 - 11:18 am

Lorretta Clarke - Hi Admin

Just wanted to post how wonderful the customer service is at your company. This company is first class at dealing with any issues and follow up. I love the strobies!

September 9, 2016 - 10:28 am

Tom Payne - Just received my Triple Mount Special and so far I love it. The Strobies have so many great features and are easy to use. I particularly love that I can use the built in led as a modeling light.

And, thanks the shipping was so fast too.

January 26, 2018 - 11:44 am

Donna Herring - I’m taking your class through Creative Live: Portrait Photography Fundamentals. I’m planning to start with the video light but I don’t have an assistant and need a light stand similar to the one you used in the training. I only saw the stick on the web site.
